By developing people, empowering leaders, and creating consistent, people‑first HR practices, Apex is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our reputable and growing brands across the Minnesota market.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being hands‑on, partnering directly with field leaders, and supporting employees across the full life cycle in a growth‑driven, people‑first environment.

The Opportunity:

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted operational HR partner to leaders and employees across multiple local service locations. You’ll play a critical role in delivering consistent HR support while helping teams navigate growth, change, and acquisitions.

If you value autonomy, variety, and visible impact, this role offers exposure well beyond a traditional corporate HR position.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Life Cycle Support

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires and newly acquired employees, including new‑hire orientation and HR systems setup
  • Execute employee offboarding and termination processes, including final pay coordination, benefits communication, and agency reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS (job titles, reporting relationships, FLSA status, Workers’ Comp codes)

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Serve as a primary contact for employee benefits questions
  • Process benefit enrollments, life‑event changes, and separations
  • Partner with brokers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently

Employee Relations & Talent Support

  • Support leaders with employee relations matters, performance conversations, and engagement initiatives
  • Provide coaching and guidance aligned with company values and policies
  • Escalate risks appropriately while maintaining discretion and sound judgment

Safety, Compliance & Training

  • Coordinate safety and compliance initiatives across the market
  • Track required safety and compliance training completion
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims, partnering with carriers and leaders to support return‑to‑work planning

Operational Excellence

  • Support the implementation and execution of Employee Services SOPs
  • Assist with audits and compliance reporting
  • Partner with HR leadership on job structure, compensation, and pay scale updates

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience with exposure across multiple HR functional areas
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • High level of discretion, sound judgment, and attention to detail
  • Comfort working both in the field and in a professional office setting

Preferred

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting multi‑site or field‑based employees
  • Exposure to HRIS platforms and reporting

Work Environment & Travel:

  • Hybrid role based in Bloomington, MN
  • Up to 25% travel to support field locations across the Minnesota market

Why Apex Service Partners

  • Rapidly growing organization with real career growth opportunities
  • High visibility and direct partnership with operations leaders
  • People‑first culture with strong leadership support
  • Opportunity to gain broad HR exposure in a decentralized, entrepreneurial environment
