About Monmouth Cards
Monmouth Cards is one of the fastest-growing sports and trading card retailers in the country — with 10+ retail locations across New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, a rapidly growing e-commerce business, live selling across multiple platforms, marketplace operations, and expanding wholesale and distribution businesses. Supporting more than 100 employees across multiple affiliated companies, our Human Resources department plays a critical role in helping our organization continue to grow while maintaining a positive employee experience.

We're looking for an HR Coordinator to join our growing HR team. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in Human Resources while gaining hands-on experience across nearly every area of HR. You'll work directly alongside the HR Manager, supporting recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations for a fast-growing, multi-entity organization.

The position will begin on a part-time basis while you train alongside the HR Manager. During a planned leave of absence later this year, you'll transition to a full-time schedule and serve as the primary day-to-day HR resource while working closely with company leadership to ensure HR operations continue to run smoothly. Following that period, the role is expected to continue on a full-time basis as our growing organization expands and takes on additional HR initiatives and projects.

What You'll Do

As our HR Coordinator, you'll assist with nearly every aspect of Human Resources, including:

Recruiting & Hiring

  •  Coordinate job postings and applicant tracking
  •  Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates
  •  Conduct reference and employment verification checks
  •  Prepare offer letters and hiring documentation
Onboarding & Employee Administration

  •  Coordinate new hire onboarding
  •  Prepare employment paperwork
  •  Complete I-9 and E-Verify requirements
  •  Maintain confidential employee records
  •  Process employee status changes
Payroll & Benefits

  •  Assist with payroll processing
  •  Coordinate employee benefit enrollments and changes
  •  Assist employees with insurance questions
  •  Work with insurance brokers and payroll providers
  •  Maintain payroll and HR records
Employee Support

  •  Respond to routine HR questions
  •  Assist with employee coaching documentation
  •  Coordinate offboarding and separation paperwork
  •  Maintain HR documentation and personnel files
Compliance & HR Operations

  •  Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  •  Maintain required HR records
  •  Assist with policy administration
  •  Support workers' compensation and unemployment processes
  •  Assist with general HR projects and department initiatives
Required Qualifications

  •  Strong organizational and time management skills
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication
  •  High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  •  Exceptional attention to detail
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications

  •  0–2 years of Human Resources or administrative experience
  •  Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  •  Experience with payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, or employee onboarding is a plus—but not required
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
