Human Resources Business Partner (Employee Relations)

Pay: $35–$42/hour Length: Contract for 3-4 Months Schedule: Monday-Friday Location: Hybrid/Remote flexibility (San Diego based)

LHH has partnered with a well-established property management company to hire an experienced HR Business Partner- Employee Relations to join their team on a contract basis. This role will focus on supporting day-to-day HR operations while leading complex employee relations matters across a multi-state workforce. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working hands-on with managers and employees to resolve issues and drive positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees across multiple states
  • Lead and manage employee relations cases from start to finish, including complex investigations
  • Conduct thorough and compliant workplace investigations (harassment, performance, policy violations, etc.)
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • Ensure consistent documentation of HR matters, including investigations and corrective actions
  • Partner with leadership to maintain compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws
  • Support HR initiatives, employee communications, and day-to-day HR operations
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations
  • Proven experience handling complex investigations and sensitive workplace issues
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (multi-state experience preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels
  • Highly organized with strong documentation and follow-through skills
  • Experience supporting medium to large employee populations (200+ employees preferred)
  • HRIS experience is a plus
