The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). OIT oversees all major information and communications technology initiatives for the City of Philadelphia - increasing the effectiveness of the information technology infrastructure, where the services provided are advanced, optimized, and responsive to the needs of the City of Philadelphia's businesses, residents, and visitors. OIT responsibilities include: identifying the most effective approach for implementing new information technology directions throughout city government; improving the value of the city's technology assets and the return on the city's technology investments; ensuring data security continuity; planning for continuing operations in the event of disruption of information technology or communications services; and supporting accountable, efficient and effective government across every city department, board, commission and agency.

OIT is looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant (HR Assistant) to join OIT's Human Resources team and support our growing department. You will be responsible for maintaining HR records, assisting with employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. This role offers excellent exposure to all aspects of human resources and is perfect for someone looking to build a career in HR while making a meaningful impact on employee experience.
You will work closely with OIT HR leadership and business leaders to ensure smooth HR operations, from onboarding new employees to maintaining accurate recordkeeping, supporting various HR initiatives along with having effective communication skills. The HR Assistant will perform directly or assist with duties in the following areas: HRIS, transactions, employee relations, benefits, employment processes, safety, and general support. The HR Assistant will be critical in the day-to-day operations, which includes supporting 570+ employees with various inquiries for the life cycle of the employee. This position provides comprehensive learning opportunities and direct involvement in HR activities that drive organizational success.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
Starting salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications.
