Creighton University is seeking a highly organized and welcoming Human Resources Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for all University human resources needs. As the "face of HR," this role creates positive first impressions for visitors while ensuring seamless daily operations for our entire department and plays a crucial role in supporting the HR department by handling administrative tasks and assisting with onboarding processes.
The HR Assistant will provide comprehensive reception and administrative support to the HR and Senior Management team, including:
- Onboarding coordination: Employment verification, background check tracking, I-9 validation, and new hire onboard tasks processing
- Front desk excellence: Greeting visitors with professionalism and warmth while managing a high-volume reception area
- Office operations: Maintaining office supplies, coordinating equipment maintenance, ensuring the workspace remains welcoming and organized
- Administrative support: Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the HR team, including managing scheduling and logistics for HR-related events and meetings, conduct basic research related to HR policies and procedures, oversee shared HR calendars coordinating office communications, maintaining offsite storage tracking, and providing general departmental assistance

Required experience and education
- Demonstrated customer service focus with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities and ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
- Office support experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, calendar management systems and ability to coordinate multiple schedules simultaneously preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
