Pay Schedule VI, Grade 23, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week

A vacancy exists in the Office of Human Resources, HRIS Division.

Examples of Duties

Reporting to the Chief of Human Resources Information Systems and under general supervision, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing a wide range of complex office administration and support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implements and administers departmental office systems and procedures.
  • Communicates policies and procedures to departments, county employees and external partners.
  • Reviews and approves HCM transactions in Workday such as New Hires, Rehires, Name Changes, Edit Position, Supervisory Organization Movement Tasks, and reviews Compensation, etc.
  • Conducts and Coordinates New employee Sign-In; such as creating sign-in folders, creating New Hire communications with BCG agencies, presenting new employee presentation.
  • Supports HCM Core with troubleshooting escalated HCM Workday concerns by way of resolving Workday tickets, HCM Outlook inbox inquiries, telephone inquiries, training, etc.
  • Completes various Workday projects, as assigned.
  • Creates New Hires badges.
  • Miscellaneous duties such as collecting & distributing interoffice mail, scanning & saving files, copying sign-in documents, etc.
  • Serves as back up to other division Office Assistants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent

plus

two years clerical or technical experience in a human resources function or in job placement.

(Additional education in personnel administration may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree, preferably in human resources, computer information systems, business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field.

  • Ability to establish project timelines and meet objectives ensuring to keep employees and Department HR Liaisons informed of project status and/or deviations from original expectations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment simultaneously while also ensuring effective and efficient use of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff as well as the public and members of other organizations.

  • Ability to communicate with and relate to individuals of diverse disabilities and backgrounds.

Salary

Annual Salary review - Step increases may be granted on anniversary date based on satisfactory job performance

General Increases - Cost of living increases and adjustments may be granted as legislated.

Longevity Increases - In accordance with the specific pay schedule, a full-time merit or classified employee may receive a longevity increase, equivalent to one step, upon completion of a certain number of years of classified service with the County.
