Decker Truck Line, Inc. has an opportunity available for an experienced individual to provide administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources as a Human Resources Assistant at our beautiful Corporate Headquarters in Fort Dodge, IA.
Human Resources Assistant Responsibilities
- Assisting with employee onboarding and training programs
- Producing and posting job openings
- Reviewing applicants, setting up and conducting interviews, and completing background and reference checks
- Setting up pre-employment testing for new hires
- Maintaining employee information electronically
- Assisting with the drug and alcohol testing program
- Assisting with unemployment claims such as letter writing and gathering documentation; participating as necessary
- Assisting with FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA and other regulatory compliance
- Composing letters and meeting with employees when improvement is needed
- Scanning, filing and data entry
- Other duties as assigned
- Great schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm!
Human Resources Assistant Qualifications
- The right person will be detail-orientated, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Requires excellent communication and computer skills
- Minimum 2 years HR experience required
- Background in Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
- An AA degree is required
- A BA degree in HR or Management is preferred
