    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing personnel-related functions for the organization's team members. This role supports recruitment and retention, employment eligibility, orientation, team member relations, training and development, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation, personnel records, terminations, and exit interviews.

    The Human Resources Coordinator also explains approved benefits and compensation, serves as a resource on organizational policies and the team member handbook, and works under the direction of the Campus Director. The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable, approachable, and able to exercise initiative and independent judgment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Recruit, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for employment, referring qualified applicants to the appropriate Team Leader
    • Conduct orientation for new team members
    • Ensure all required pre-employment procedures are completed
    • Prepare internal job postings and external employment advertisements
    • Maintain and update confidential team member personnel files
    • Compile reports, including team member turnover data
    • Complete required government reports, including OSHA Forms 300 and 301 and unemployment compensation documentation
    • Respond to audits and charges from compliance agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
    • Oversee the maintenance of team member benefit plans
    • Answer team member questions regarding benefits, human resources matters, and team member relations
    • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing team member benefits, including ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA
    • Understand and communicate federal and state employment laws related to FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and Department of Labor requirements
    • Communicate and coordinate the organization's grievance procedure
    • Assist supervisors with personnel matters, including placement concerns, probationary employment decisions, transfers, demotions, retention, and dismissals
    • Investigate harassment claims, maintain confidentiality, and keep the Campus Director informed of progress
    • Develop and maintain team member retention strategies and incentive programs
    • Coordinate and participate in team member training, morale-building activities, and other engagement initiatives
    • Encourage team member involvement at all levels of the organization
    • Participate actively on task forces and organizational committees
    • Gather team member feedback through surveys, focus groups, and individual meetings, then develop and implement appropriate follow-up plans
    • Promote strong customer service standards through encouragement, communication, and positive relationship-building
    • Promote collaboration among staff and management to improve communication and problem-solving
    • Enforce organizational human resources policies
    • Stay informed about human resources trends, laws, regulations, and best practices
    • Continue professional growth through educational programs, workshops, professional literature, and in-service meetings
    • Represent Baptist Village professionally and demonstrate commitment to the mission of Baptist Village Communities
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Three to five years of equivalent experience as a human resources generalist
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred
    • Considerable knowledge of human resources principles and practices, with emphasis on state and federal laws affecting employment, wages and hours, and benefits
    • Highly developed interpersonal skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work efficiently and professionally with team members at all levels of the organization
    • Mature judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
    • Customer service-focused approach to problem-solving

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This position works closely with team members, supervisors, campus leadership, benefit providers, and regulatory agencies. The role includes frequent communication, confidential records management, recruitment, reporting, team member relations, and compliance responsibilities in a professional office environment.

    • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
