Mid-South Care Services is seeking a driven, people-focused Human Resources Assistant – Recruiter to lead the full-cycle hiring and onboarding process for our growing organization. Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
Manage full-cycle recruitment for caregivers (CNAs, DSPs, HHAs), family model providers, nurses, medical professionals, and administrative staff
Develop and maintain strong applicant pipelines using job boards (Indeed, social media, referrals, etc.)
Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for both skill and cultural fit
Coordinate and conduct hiring events, open interviews, and community outreach efforts
Partner with divisions to understand staffing needs and ensure timely placements
Onboarding & Hiring Process
Responsible for entire recruiting process
Ensure all pre-employment requirements are completed (verifications, references, background checks, drug screens, credentials, etc.)
Create a positive and engaging onboarding experience that improves retention
Maintain consistent communication with recruits during their first assignment.
Identify opportunities to improve hiring processes and reduce turnover
Ensure compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations
Assist leadership with workforce planning and staffing strategies
Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of recruiting, HR, or staffing experience (healthcare or home care strongly preferred)
Experience hiring high-volume roles (caregivers, CNAs, DSPs, Family Model Providers, etc.)
Knowledge of TennCare, DDA, ECF, or similar programs preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple openings at once
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and job boards (Indeed experience preferred)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
