The Role
You're the heartbeat of the hub. You make sure the shelves are stocked, the milk stays cold, and the right grub ends up on the right doorstep. As Hub Supervisor, you're the link between the plan and the pick-keeping inventory in check, operations humming, and standards sky-high.
You lead the day-to-day floor operations, working closely with Drivers, and your Hub Manager to deliver every order with accuracy, efficiency, and a cool head.
The Function
The Hub Operations team is the engine of Modern Milkman. The Hub Supervisor is key to that engine, driving the picking, packing, stock handling, and end-of-shift processes that ensure our customers receive a world-class doorstep delivery. You're responsible for creating a clean, safe, organized, and performance-driven work environment.
This function thrives on accuracy, accountability, and action. You turn plans into product flow-and make sure nothing gets missed in between.
Duties and Areas of Responsibility
Inventory Management & Order Fulfillment
Lead daily pick operations to ensure accurate and on-time order assembly
Maintain inventory accuracy through organized stock rotation and diligent goods-in practices (using FIFO)
Coordinate with Hub Manager to manage product receiving, storage, and usage efficiently
Track and reduce waste through daily logging and root cause review
Assist with product ordering.
Build working relationships with our suppliers
Alternate with the Hub Manager to ensure the Sunday pick is completed
Cold Chain & Food Safety Compliance
Own the daily food safety routine, including fridge/freezer temperature checks, log completion, and issue escalation
Ensure all hub spaces meet food safety and cleanliness standards at all times
Work with pest control contractors and site teams to uphold hygiene standards and prevent risks
Complete food safety spot checks and escalate concerns as needed
Facilities, Equipment & End-of-Shift Close Down
Monitor equipment use and report maintenance issues swiftly
Oversee van clean-downs and loading bay activity to ensure driver departure is smooth and timely
Ensure end-of-shift routines are completed, including waste logging, pick completion, and fridge resets
Communicate shift summaries and issues to the Hub Manager and Lead Driver
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including pick accuracy, waste %, log completion, and compliance
Identify opportunities for operational improvement and feed them back to the Hub Manager
Foster a "clean as you go" culture and lead by example on hub standards
Train new staff and help embed best practices from day one
