Position Details

The Classroom Lead Teacher works with our 1 and 2 year olds providing meaningful learning opportunities through play. The teacher plans and implements activities, provides comfort and guidance to children, and builds strong relationships with families and staff.

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Childcare Coordinator, the Classroom Lead Teacher will:

  • Work with an assigned group of children while applying best practices for their care and development, including planning and implementing activities using Creative Curriculum.
  • Support and nurture each child's development of self-esteem, trust, and growing independence.
  • Provide active supervision of children at all times.
  • Provide guidance, and leadership to classroom support staff.
  • Complete developmental assessments and ongoing documentation of children's progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
  • Build strong partnerships with families by communicating regularly and collaborating on educational and family goals.
  • Follow all childcare licensing regulations and program policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift children up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist, kneel, and/or stoop up to 75% of the workday.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR
  • Associate Degree in Child Development or related field with two years of experience working with infants or toddlers.
