PRIMARY PURPOSE & FUNCTIONHealth Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Manager - Develop and implement HSSE systems throughout the organization. Provide HSSE guidance and feedback to management and staff alike. Track and trend HSSE data and provide organization with leading and lagging metrics. Promote HSSE and communication across all disciplines. Work schedule 5x2, on call 24/7, salary negotiated - includes car allowance and full benefits. Resumes can be emailed to Lauren Adams, ladams@epsteam.comESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIESPromote health and safety within a work environmentDevelop and implement HSSE systems and programsTrend HSSE data and provide communication of data to managementLead the organization to achieve HSSE goalsRespond immediately to workplace incidents when called by operations, remain on call and ready to respond during designated intervals as part of the responder on call group, and when not on call, respond when needed in cases where multiple incidents may be occurringAssist injured employees in obtaining appropriate medical care through company occupational physicians and manage care to prevent unnecessary OSHA recordabilityAnalyze workplaces and design initiatives to control, eliminate, and prevent injuriesInspect workplaces to investigate compliance with state and federal laws or company or client safety and environmental policiesConduct analyses on the effectiveness of safety and health programsIdentify hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general publicHelp develop new safety practices, conduct training sessions for field employees and management, and monitor and assess the program's progressDevelop and effectively deliver safety meeting topics appropriate to the current field forceInvestigate causes of workplace accidents or illnessesUsing approved methods, forms, and processes to conduct root cause analyses of workplace incidents as directedMaintain workplace schedule on shared Safety Department calendar by inviting the calendar to your workday activitiesDevelop corrective action plans following workplace accidents or illnesses and follow up to completionAssist with rehabilitation of workers in compliance with Workers' Compensation and Longshoreman's Act requirementsPrepare accident reports, workplace injury trend analyses, OSHA forms, and initiatives for control and correction of hazardous conditionsProvide testimony in court and write policies, procedures, and manuals regarding occupational health and safety systemsAttend local industry safety meetings as a member of groups such as ASSE, GCSTG, etcPerform other duties as requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESDemonstrate ability to provide management, organize safety activities effectively, and provide impeccable customer support and relationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, and strong organization, detail, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate project management skills, with facility in managing and prioritizing projects with multiple and often competing deadlines, and ability to work under pressureAbility to work independently, under supervision, and in a team-based and goal-oriented environmentWillingness and ability to travelAbility to work comfortably with diverse populations, with sensitivity to issues concerning all disabilitiesProficient knowledge of safety strategies, laws, and regulationsProficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and InternetDetail-oriented and able to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervisionEffective team player, able to work effectively with a broad range of people and other departmentsProfessional partner with members of senior managementMaintain confidentialityEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE3-5 years relevant employee HSE supervisory experienceDegree in Occupational Health and Safety, human resources, business, or a related field or equivalent experience requiredSelf-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills both oral and writtenPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSFrequentlySitting: Remaining in the seated position for long periods of timeHandling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
