Safran Aerospace Composites in Rochester, NH is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. This technology creates less noise and decreases fuel consumption for aircraft engines, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Position Summary:
The Site Health, Safety and Environmental Site Specialist will support the operations of Safran Aerospace Composites (SAC) and our on-site partner by implementing and championing the Health, Safety and Environmental Program. This position will ensure all SAC practices comply with the Companys requirements and meet all federal, state and local regulations. The position is responsible for creating and implementing the HSE regulatory programs and permitting requirements for the 345,000 square foot Rochester site. Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, this candidate will work closely with the site Facilities Engineer and Continuous Improvement Team to implement initiatives and solutions to further improve the health and safety of all team members.
Job Requirements
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
Develop and deploy safety guidelines and related HSE communications and training/educational information.
Internal audits
External audits of Safran facilities
HSE training materials to ensure information is current to regulatory requirements
Fill the role of Alternate Emergency Coordinator; be responsible for implementation of the facilitys Contingency Plan. More details can be found in the Hazardous Waste Training Plan located in the HSE office.
Chair/Facilitate the Company safety committee.
Act as the site Chemical Risks Correspondent.
Ensure all employees properly understand the importance of safety in the workplace.
Job Specifications:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline required.
No less than five years of relatable experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of and adherence with applicable laws, regulations, nationally recognized standards and guidelines related to specialized health, safety and environmental functions as required by the position.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to make sound judgments and respond to emergency situations in a calm manner.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds occasionally.
Lighting and temperature are adequate.
Eye protection must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 90% of a standard workday.
Foot protection must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 90% of a standard workday.
