The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of scientific concepts, a passion for inquiry-based learning, and a commitment to helping students connect science to the world around them. This teacher will inspire curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on labs, engaging lessons, and real-world applications across multiple scientific disciplines.In this role, you'll plan and deliver lessons that meet the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Grades 9-12, guide students through scientific investigations, and foster an environment where questioning, discovery, and collaboration are encouraged. You'll also contribute to a positive school culture by working closely with colleagues, supporting school initiatives, and helping students reach their full academic potential.Key Responsibilities:Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with TEKS and school curriculum standards.Teach courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Integrated Science, depending on certification and campus needs.Design and facilitate laboratory investigations that promote inquiry, safety, and hands-on learning.Review and implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs and 504 plans to ensure equitable learning experiences.Use data-driven instruction and assessment to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.Create a classroom culture that emphasizes respect, curiosity, and scientific thinking.Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding student performance and engagement.Participate in campus events, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field (Master's preferred).Strong knowledge of TEKS for high school science courses and effective instructional strategies.Familiarity with IEP/504 processes and experience in differentiating instruction for diverse learners.Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.A passion for helping students explore and understand the world through science.Preferred Qualifications:Texas teaching certification (preferred but not required).Experience in a classroom, childcare, tutoring, or educational support role.Compensation:Starting competitive salary, commensurate with experience and education.Annual increases based on verified years of teaching service.Official service record must be provided upon hire to determine placement on the pay scale.How to Apply:Interested candidates should complete the interest form and submit the following to hr@txea.org:Current resume.Contact information for three professional references.Application Deadline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.STATEMENT OF NON-DISCRIMINATION: In keeping with our beliefs and goals, no employee or applicant will face discrimination/ harassment based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital/ domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or veteran status.
