The HRSG Lead will provide onsite leadership and technical oversight for all Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) construction activities associated with a large-scale combined cycle power generation project. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for HRSG installation, erection, pressure part assembly, ductwork, stack construction, hydro testing, turnover, and commissioning support.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive field experience supporting the construction and startup of combined cycle power plants and will work closely with engineering, construction, quality, commissioning, and OEM representatives to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all HRSG-related construction activities from installation through commissioning and startup.
  • Provide technical guidance to construction teams, subcontractors, and field supervision regarding HRSG systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate daily activities involving pressure parts, modules, duct burners, stacks, piping tie-ins, insulation, and associated auxiliary systems.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project schedules.
  • Interface with engineering, quality, commissioning, and operations teams to support project execution and turnover.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, installation quality, and construction progress.
  • Participate in constructability reviews, outage planning, startup readiness assessments, and turnover activities.
  • Identify and resolve field engineering and construction issues impacting schedule, quality, or safety.
  • Support hydrostatic testing, flushing, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
  • Assist project leadership with schedule forecasting, risk mitigation, and project planning efforts.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all project safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of field construction experience supporting HRSG systems on combined cycle power generation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing HRSG erection, pressure parts installation, ductwork, stack construction, and associated balance-of-plant systems.
  • Strong understanding of combined cycle plant construction methodologies and startup processes.
  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors and craft disciplines in an active construction environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Proven leadership experience in large-scale industrial or power generation construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting projects utilizing GE Vernova gas turbine and power generation equipment.
  • Previous experience working on EPC projects.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
  • Prior experience on utility-scale combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) projects exceeding 500 MW.
  • Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, and construction planning processes.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Contract onsite position.
  • Project site located in Homer City, Pennsylvania.
  • Must be comfortable working in active industrial construction environments, including elevated work areas and outdoor conditions.
  • Extended work hours, weekends, and shift support may be required during critical construction and commissioning phases.
