Challenger School began in a one-room school in 1963 in San Jose, CA with 11 preschoolers. Position: HR Manager
Location: Sandy, UT
Schedule: Works fully onsite, not a hybrid position
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: HR Generalists (2), HRIS Analyst, and HR Assistant
Comp: $90K - $115K

Summary: Lead Challenger School's Human Resources to ensure personnel practices and policies meet best practices and comply with federal, state, and local law; and partner with managers to effectively manage all personnel accordingly.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational behavior, or related degree; or equivalent knowledge and experience
5+ years of experience in human resources, preferably with 2+ years of experience managing HR department
Knowledge & Skills
Superior organizational skills and diplomatic skills for dealing with difficult issues and people
Knowledge of laws and ability to cooperate and manage legal dealings with attorneys and courts
Superior math and English speaking, writing, and presenting skills as well as excellent skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to act discreetly and decisively in difficult personnel issues, assisting managers to successfully avoid costly personnel and clientele litigation
Train, assist, and coach managers to deal with legal and other delicate matters with personnel and clientele
Ability to maintain emotional control and stability in all activities of this position for the safety and well-being of children, clientele, and employees
