HR ManagerLocation: Harrisonburg, VAPosition Type: Direct HireSalary Range: $90,000 – $100,000 Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of human resources operations at the Harrisonburg, Virginia location. This role will serve as a key business partner to leadership, supporting a dynamic workforce in a fast-paced environment. Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. The HR Manager will be responsible for driving talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, performance management, and workforce development initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR certification is a plus but not required. Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, partnering with department leaders to identify staffing needs and required competencies.
  • Oversee candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring processes to attract top talent.
  • Manage pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screens, and physical exam documentation.
  • Direct onboarding initiatives including new hire orientation, I-9 verification, and assignment of required training.
  • Utilize HRIS systems to manage recruiting, onboarding, and employee data.

Employee Relations and HR Operations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees to foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Manage employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, performance concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Support performance management and talent development initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement, morale, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Oversee terminations, unemployment claims, and related documentation.
 Compensation, Benefits and Compliance
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and leave programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to reflect current best practices and legal requirements.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.
 Health, Safety and Risk Management
  • Support occupational health and safety initiatives in partnership with operations leadership.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
 Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience; manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred.
  • SHRM or PHR certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Positive, professional demeanor with strong problem-solving capabilities
