The Plant Human Resources Manager will play a critical, high-visibility role at the site, serving as the primary HR partner to plant leadership and acting as the bridge between the production floor and executive team. The HR Manager will be deeply embedded in day-to-day operations - supporting a large hourly workforce, driving employee engagement, leading employee relations, and helping managers navigate performance, attendance, and retention challenges.

Client Details

Our client is a fast-growing, family-owned food manufacturing company on Long Island that has built a reputation for quality, innovation, and an incredibly loyal workforce. The business is in an exciting phase - expanding production capacity, investing in new technologies, and scaling operations to meet increasing demand across retail and foodservice channels.

As part of this growth, they're looking to add a high-impact Plant Human Resources Manager who can step in as a true business partner to operations, help strengthen the employee experience on the floor, and elevate HR practices across a large, hourly workforce. Day to day areas of focus include partnering closely with plant leadership to address workforce challenges, walking the floor daily to build relationships with frontline employees and supervisors, and coach and support managers on things like performance management.

This is a unique opportunity to join a values-driven organization where leadership is accessible, decisions move quickly, and HR has a real seat at the table to help shape the next chapter of the company's success.

Qualified candidates will have 5-10+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing setting, proven experience supporting a large hourly workforce, and hands-on, plant-based experience.

This position is five days a week on-site in Central Long Island.

Description

  • Coach and support managers on performance management, attendance, discipline, and conflict resolution in a fast-paced, hourly environment
  • Lead investigations and resolve employee relations matters with a balanced, solutions-oriented approach
  • Oversee recruiting and staffing efforts for hourly and skilled roles, partnering with leadership to ensure the plant is fully staffed to meet production demand.
  • Analyze turnover, absenteeism, and engagement trends and implement actionable improvements to stabilize the workforce
  • Improve and standardize onboarding and training processes to ensure new hires are set up for success from day one
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws, policies, and food manufacturing regulations, including supporting audits and maintaining HR documentation
  • Support and execute HR initiatives across performance management, succession planning, and workforce development
  • Identify opportunities to modernize HR processes and bring best practices into a growing, evolving organization
