HR Generalist
Location: Maryland Heights, MO (100% Onsite)
Assignment: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (High Potential to Convert)
Pay Rate: Up to $43/hour DOE
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners, site leadership, and employees to support a wide range of Human Resources functions including employee relations, HR operations, recruiting support, onboarding, leave administration, compliance, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities
- Support employee and labor relations by addressing workplace concerns, conducting investigations, and documenting findings.
- Partner with managers on employee performance, attendance, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
- Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
- Maintain HRIS data and process employee transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations.
- Perform HR audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Generate HR reports and workforce metrics to support business decisions.
- Coordinate leave administration and partner with internal teams to support return-to-work processes.
- Assist with recruiting coordination, onboarding, new hire orientation, and pre-employment activities.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, communications, and site events.
- Maintain employee records and personnel files.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and workforce planning initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience.

- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting a unionized workforce.
- HR experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, CDMO, or another regulated industry.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
