Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager
FLSA: Exempt


SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate
will be responsible for performing various HR-related duties, working closely with all levels of employees to
ensure smooth operations within the HR department. This role requires a strong understanding of HR functions,
excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.


BASIC FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Benefits Administration
• Assist with administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans,
and other benefits.
• Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and assist with facilitating open enrollment.
• Works closely with team members on medical and personal leave of absences. This includes but is not
limited to notice of FMLA eligibility, disability eligibility, benefit continuation, and maintaining records
in the HRIS system.
• Works closely with team members on medical and religious accommodation requests.
• Monitors and supports compliance to the annual influenza vaccination requirement for all team members.


Employee Relations
• Serve as a backup to HR Manager for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and
procedures.
• Address employee concerns and escalate issues as needed, maintaining confidentiality and
professionalism at all times.
• Assist in resolving conflicts or disputes between employees, promoting a positive work environment.
Recruitment and Onboarding
• Recruit for key positions as assigned by HR manager.
• Assist with coordinating the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling
interviews, and conducting background checks.
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensure completion of required paperwork.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure job descriptions are accurate and reflect current needs.


Performance Management
• Support performance appraisal processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback
sessions.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance feedback and corrective action when
necessary.


HR Compliance & Policy
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HR activities, such as personnel files and
employee data.
• Works with HR Manager(s) and team in preparation for CARF surveys.
• Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.


HR Reporting
• Prepare HR reports and analytics for management review, including turnover rates, recruitment metrics,
and employee demographics.
• Utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to maintain accurate and up-to-date employee
records.
• Other duties as assigned.


Physical Expectations
This position requires extended periods of sitting with some periods of walking and standing. It may also require
bending, kneeling, and/or stooping and climbing stairs. An individual in this position may need to drive a vehicle
to resources in the community. There may be extended periods of using a computer and/or calculator.
Working Conditions
Office/home environment with noises from office equipment, telephones, etc. May be exposed to bloodborne
pathogens and/or infectious diseases.


QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree required, with emphasis in HR preferred with a minimum of three (3) years HR experience or SHRM certification with
5+ years’ experience.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups.
• Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record and access to reliable transportation to conduct
visits to multiple sites plus attend community meetings.
• Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management,
and benefits administration.
• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
• Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS software.
• Must Receive Seasonal Flu Vaccination
