HR Generalist

 


Job Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting daily human resources operations and ensuring the effective delivery of HR services across the organization. This role handles a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, training, and HR reporting. The HR Generalist serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment (posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews).

  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities.

  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment records.

2. Employee Relations

  • Serve as a resource for employee inquiries and concerns.

  • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts and performance issues.

  • Support disciplinary processes and documentation.

3. Benefits & Compensation Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave).

  • Assist with payroll coordination and timekeeping processes.

  • Support compensation reviews and salary adjustments.

4. Compliance & Policy Implementation

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.

  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.

  • Assist in updating HR policies and employee handbook.

5. Training & Development

  • Coordinate training sessions and professional development programs.

  • Track training participation and compliance requirements.

  • Support performance review processes.

6. HR Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare HR reports and metrics (turnover, headcount, absenteeism).

  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy.

  • Support audits and internal reviews.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of HR principles and employment laws.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Organizational and time management abilities.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
