Position Overview

The HR Director is responsible for driving strategic and HR operational excellence while supporting the business leaders at Pike Industries, a CRH Company.

 

The HR Director will contribute to business success through leadership in human resources, including employee relations & engagement, employment law, individual and team performance management, policy interpretation as well as partnering with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies in support of business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Engaging and inspiring employees towards the establishment and maintenance of a positive safety culture
  • Responsible for building collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization and is a trusted advisor and business partner
  • Actively demonstrating leadership competencies to contribute to a high-performance work environment
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategies relating to staffing, recruiting, and retention
  • Leand and manager the company’s HR team to ensure a high level of engagement and support management, field employees, external agencies, and the general public
  • Partner with company leaders to develop and implement HR strategies in support of business goals and objectives. This also includes streamlining processes and data analytics
  • Build trust and establish credibility at all levels of the organization
  • Develop talent management strategy, identify leadership competencies, and collaborate with leadership team to enhance the talent pipeline and succession planning
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and government reporting regulations affecting the human resources function, including Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), etc.
  • Direct the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.  Act as primary contact with legal counsel and outside agencies
  • Oversight of employee relations issues including complaints, investigations, performance concerns, and terminations.  Counsel employees and/or managers as needed regarding company policies
  • Manage and monitor state mandated on-the-job (OJT) programs
  • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of human resources
  • Be visible in the sites/locations across Pike Industries
  • Meet corporate objectives and individual career aspirations by promoting developmental activities, coaching and training of managers and other future leaders
  • Collaborates on internal and external communication strategies, utilizing the skills of Marketing & Communications
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Ÿ  Assist with Interviewing and hiring process as necessary.

Ÿ  Willingness to develop subordinates’ technical and leadership skills and make recommendations for new job opportunities when appropriate

Ÿ  Effective management of employee performance through coaching, feedback (written and verbal), rewards, and discipline when necessary

Ÿ  Addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner

Ÿ  Lead by example

Ÿ  Ability to get work done through others using effective delegation, scheduling, and time management practices

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or comparable discipline.  8-10 years working in human resources, talent management, and/or training/development.  Minimum of 3 years working in a human resources leadership capacity – talent management, recruiting or generalist

 

General Requirements

Ÿ  Ability to work independently and get work done through others using effective influencing skills, delegation, scheduling, and time management practices

Ÿ  Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ÿ  Must be willing to travel and work away from home base when required

Ÿ  A valid driver’s license

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Ÿ  Highest level of interpersonal communication & listening skills including, tact, patience, flexibility and courtesy

Ÿ  Ability to use discretion, sound judgment and maintain strictest confidentiality when handling sensitive materials and information

Ÿ  Strong Analytical skills - command of qualitative financial analyses

Ÿ  High level of business acumen - able to look at data and identify trends and underlying issues

Ÿ  Strong written and communication skills - able to clearly articulate complex concepts simply

Ÿ  Experience working with outside vendors and outsourced contractors

Ÿ  Able to influence in a positive way, all levels of the organization

Ÿ  Results-oriented - able to multi-task and delivers results against multiple priorities - with outstanding attention to detail

Ÿ  Experience with SuccessFactors, SAP and Korn Ferry an asset
