The HR Coordinator supports the day-to-day HR operations of a manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate HR administration, coordinates recruitment and onboarding, supports training and compliance efforts, and serves as an accessible resource for employees and supervisors. The HR Coordinator helps maintain an organized, efficient, and people-focused HR function that supports plant operations and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain employee records in HRIS and personnel files (digital and physical), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely processing of employee data, personnel actions, and status changes.
  • Process new hire onboarding, employee status changes, terminations, pre-employment requirements, physical, annual health screenings, and related documentation.
  • Assist with timekeeping corrections, payroll inputs, attendance tracking, and other HR administrative functions.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and documentation including headcount, turnover, training records, performance evaluations, activity reports, and workforce metrics for leadership review.
  • Post job openings, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and support recruiting and retention efforts for production, skilled trades, administrative, and distribution center roles.
  • Conduct and coordinate pre-employment activities including reference checks, background checks, drug screens, and onboarding compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of onboarding paperwork, compliance documents, and training requirements.
  • Track probationary periods, performance evaluations, certifications, and follow up with supervisors regarding employee progress and development.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, and general employment-related questions.
  • Coordinate and explain employee benefit programs, assist with benefit enrollments and changes, maintain benefit records, and communicate with insurance providers and brokers as needed.
  • Support employee relations activities, investigations, employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and efforts that promote a positive work environment and open communication.
  • Coordinate, track, and maintain required HR and safety trainings including OSHA, harassment prevention, equipment training, and other compliance-related programs.
  • Maintain accurate training logs, employee certifications, policy acknowledgements, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with workers compensation documentation, return-to-work processes, and compliance-related activities.
  • Participate in audits including internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits while ensuring HR documentation and processes remain audit ready.
  • Support workforce development initiatives, performance management processes, and organizational HR projects as assigned.
  • Recommend and support process improvements that enhance HR efficiency, compliance, organization, and employee experience.
  • Perform additional HR administrative duties, special projects, and other responsibilities as assigned by HR leadership.

Required Experience:

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Associate or bachelors degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems (ADP, Paycom, Kronos, etc.).

*Proficient in ADP and Excel is required.

  • Knowledge of HR fundamentals and employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA basics).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Comfortable working on the production floor when needed (training, timekeeping, employee support).

Education and/or Experience:

Associates degree from a two-year college or university in a related field of study with 4-6 years experience as an HR Coordinator; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
