Position Summary
 
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator will provide general HR support with a focus on growing our company’s talent pipeline, provide effective and efficient operational HR support, and overall employee relations processes. The HR coordinator will handle every task with accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
 
The ideal candidate should be able to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.  Ability to manage multiple competing demands while ensuring on time execution will be key to be successful in this role.
 
Position Responsibilities
 
  • Support the HR Manager in the recruitment process for non-exempt positions that includes to advertise (internally/externally), post, recruit, screen, coordinate and execute interviews and hire qualified candidates to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Maintain applicant and hire tracking  
  • Coordinate and participate in new hire orientation for newly hired employees, including preparing and submitting all new hire documents. 
  • Facilitate the off-boarding process, which may include exit interviews, employee and manager communication, and equipment collection. 
  • Escalate workplace issues and employee complaints to HR Manager and ensure accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues. 
  • Prepare, maintain, and communicate data related to employees hired, turnover, recruiting activities, training completion, department rosters and other topics as applicable. 
  • Responsible for maintaining site employee files, including I-9’s  
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries. 
  • Provide timecard and payroll support to the site.  
  • Track and report leave of absences and worker’s compensation claims.  
  • Process promotions, transfers, adjustments, increases in the system. 
  • Assist with maintaining positive employee relation interactions and foster a positive work environment. 
  • Assist the HR Manager in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory activities, including but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Position Requirements
 
  • High School Diploma is required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.   
  • Two (2) years of Human Resources or related field required.   
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. 
  • Ability to develop productive, collaborative working relationships across departments are required. 
  • Must use discretion when dealing with confidential information. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written is required. 
  • Must have high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Skilled in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems in a timely manner. 
  • High level of integrity, trust, and ethics are required.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation for travel to all HNI sites.
  • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes tree nuts. Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where tree nuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air. The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $26/hr-$32/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
