Maximus is currently seeking a Coordinator 1- Accommodations and Leave Ops.

The Coordinator 1- Accommodations and Leave Ops is an integral support role within a centralized team responsible for supporting the workplace accommodations process, applicant accommodations, and escalated leave processes. This position provides administrative and operational support to the Accommodations & Leave Specialists and Senior Specialists by responding to information requests, coordinating logistics, validating data, and ensuring timely execution of accommodation related tasks. The coordinator does not evaluate or approve accommodations or leave decisions. Instead, they ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and smooth flow of information and processes that enable the team to deliver compliant, well coordinated outcomes.

This role is onsite in Crown Point, IN or West Lafayette, IN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to requests for information related to short‑term disability management from the state or third‑party disability vendor.
  • Support the procurement, delivery, and tracking of workplace accommodation equipment, tools, and workspace modifications.
  • Coordinate logistics for approved accommodations, including scheduling adjustments, equipment setup, and communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide timekeeping support for employees on continuous leave, including entering and validating time entries for accuracy, making corrections, and following up with managers as needed.
  • Maintain organized, confidential records of accommodation‑ and leave‑related actions, documentation, and communications.
  • Monitor shared inboxes, case queues, and vendor platforms to ensure timely routing and follow‑up on requests.
  • Support reporting, audit preparation, and process‑improvement initiatives led by the specialist team.
  • High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one (1) year of Human Resources‑related experience, such as HR operations, employee support, leave/accommodations support, recruiting/talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, or similar HR functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Preferred: Experience using HR systems-such as HRIS platforms, case‑management/ticketing tools, or vendor platforms-as part of your regular job duties.
  • Willingness to learn ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, and related processes under the guidance of senior team members.
