North Yorkshire Council's HR & Organisational Development service is a large, high-performing service made up of specialist teams including Pay and Reward, HR Advisory, Organisational Development, Resourcing and Learning and Development. The HR & Organisational Development service recently won the 2025 PPMA Public Sector HR and OD Team of the Year, the PPMA Gold award as well as a recent award for HR and Payroll provider of the year from Education Today.
Working collaboratively across these teams, we support the delivery of workforce priorities and organisational outcomes across the Council.
What you will be doing…
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of HR activities while working towards a recognised qualification.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will support day-to-day HR activities to assist in excellent service delivery, assist with pay and reward processes, job evaluation and employee benefits work, respond to HR queries and provide a high standard of customer service, support the collection, collation and analysis of HR information and reports, contribute to wider HR and workforce projects linked to organisational priorities.
You will primarily work within the Pay and Reward team, while also gaining exposure to other HR specialisms, giving you a broad understanding of HR across the organisation.
You need to have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interpret and analyse information with attention to detail.
