JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Client NonStop Developer to design, build, and support mission-critical financial systems, with a focus on Cost Basis and Tax Reporting platforms. This role is heavily centered on Client NonStop development, with additional integration into modern data and enterprise application environments.

You will play a key role in modernizing and maintaining legacy NonStop systems, while integrating them with distributed platforms and services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications on the Client NonStop platform (COBOL, TAL, TACL, SQL, TMF)
  • Lead development efforts across system components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Analyze complex system interactions and define interfaces between NonStop and distributed systems
  • Develop and enhance batch and reporting solutions using SSIS and SSRS
  • Integrate NonStop applications with SQL Server, Oracle, and REST-based services
  • Write and optimize database logic using T-SQL and PL/SQL
  • Contribute to modernization efforts, including integration with .NET and J2EE-based systems
  • Participate in full SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment) across Agile/Hybrid environments
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide long-term technical solutions
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership within the team
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve system performance and maintainability

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Client NonStop development:
    • COBOL
    • TAL
    • TACL
    • SQL/MP or SQL/MX
    • TMF
  • Experience working with enterprise data pipelines and reporting tools (SSIS, SSRS)
  • Solid experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
  • Proficiency in T-SQL or PL/SQL
  • Exposure to distributed systems and enterprise platforms (.NET, J2EE)
  • Experience with REST APIs and service integration
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid SDLC methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience modernizing or integrating legacy NonStop systems with cloud or distributed architectures
  • Understanding of financial systems, especially tax or cost basis reporting
  • Strong problem-solving skills in high-availability environments

Work Model
Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days onsite per week at one of the listed office locations.
