Job Title: Business Analyst III
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite 5 days/week for initial 60–90 days, then 1 day WFH optional)
Duration: 12 months
Pay Rate: $74/Hour
Shift Timings: Standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
 
Job Description:
The Commercial Logistics Business Improvement team supports enterprise logistics operations through SAP/ERP systems, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), data integration, analytics, and process optimization.
The Business Analyst III will operate in an advanced individual contributor capacity, supporting system integrations, troubleshooting complex data and process issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across rail and truck logistics operations. The role requires strong analytical thinking, technical aptitude, and the ability to translate complex logistics and system data into actionable business insights.
This position plays a key role in improving freight visibility, data integrity, and end-to-end logistics performance across SAP and TMS platforms.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and monitor SAP–TMS integrations and resolve system/process issues through root cause analysis
  • Analyze end-to-end logistics workflows including shipment, billing, and freight cost data flows
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for logistics operations and system performance
  • Support rail and truck transportation management processes and ensure data accuracy across systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system upgrades, enhancements, and integration initiatives
  • Develop documentation for business processes, system changes, and improvement initiatives
  • Use Excel and reporting tools to analyze logistics data and identify trends and issues
  • Support operational users and act as a subject matter resource for TMS platforms
  • Ensure data integrity across SAP ERP and transportation systems
  • Present findings, recommendations, and updates to business stakeholders
 
Required Skills:
  • 4+ years of Business Analyst experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation systems
  • Strong experience with SAP ERP (R/3 or S/4HANA preferred)
  • Hands-on exposure to TMS systems and integration with SAP
  • Strong knowledge of rail and/or truck logistics operations
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis and process improvement
  • Strong Excel skills (data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting)
  • Ability to map end-to-end business and data processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with large datasets and operational systems
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA / R/3 (vendor billing, shipment costs, nominations, etc.)
  • Prior experience implementing or integrating a TMS with ERP systems
  • Experience with logistics systems such as Intellitrans, TransMetrics, or similar
  • Exposure to Power BI (report consumption/interpretation)
  • SharePoint documentation experience
  • Railroad logistics experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting logistics transformation or system implementation projects
 
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Information Systems, or related field
OR
Equivalent relevant professional experience
