     Abode, one of the largest and effective nonprofits working to end homelessness in the Bay Area, is seeking a Housing Resources Service Coordinator for our programs in Alameda County.

    About The Role: The Housing Resource Service Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining housing and community resources to serve clients utilizing the Housing Resource Center. This includes maintaining a direct caseload and providing a variety of onsite services, as well as field-based service coordination.  Services include homelessness prevention, move in assistance, employment/housing workshops, housing navigation, and linkage to community resources/benefits.

    How You Make An Impact:

    • Research and access new housing opportunities and regularly update all resource materials for clients and staff.
    • Ability to discern which clients can manage housing searches independently and which need more hands-on help.
    • Works closely with other agencies that will support the clients and works effectively and collaboratively with all departments and staff.
    • Display and provide excellent customer service with a sense of initiative that is self-directed.
    • Ability to represent Abode as a brand ambassador and advocate of the unhoused population with external stakeholders, and potential new partners and donors.
    • Will design and facilitate housing, employment, income, resources, etc. education groups.
    • Is knowledgeable about housing resources in the County.
    • Assist with Housing Resource Center drop-ins/phone line for literal and preventative homeless services
    • Conduct Housing Needs Assessments and Crisis Assessments for housing and shelter resources
    • Assist with documentation readiness and housing navigation activities, including linkages to resources
    • Weekend and evening availability
    • Work with 50 or more participants on a case load at any given time.
    • Conduct outreach and field work to support participants.
    • Ability to maintain accurate and timely participant files.
    • Other duties as assigned

    How You Meet Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or equivalent experience required.
    • 2 years of experience working with people facing homelessness, substance abuse issues and individuals in the criminal justice system.
    • Use of personal vehicle and proof of valid California Driver's License and current auto insurance, along with a clean DMV record, is required, including driving and transportation of participants when required.
