The Salvation Midtown Services & Treatment Center is looking for a Housing Outreach Liaison. This individual will monitor all activities associated with the Substance Abuse Program, including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Program. Perform duties of an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and related duties to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy therapeutic environment, assisting clients with achieving their therapeutic goals.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with a salary of $45,000 per year. The location of the position is 2900 Washington Ave, St. Louis, Missouri.
Essential Functions
Conduct client evaluation interviews, assess type of treatment required, develop treatment plan, include screenings and intakes when admitted into treatment. Perform clients breathalyzer and urinalysis. Conduct routine search and seizure procedures. Orient clients upon admission into the program. Conduct financial screenings and accept clients according to the program policy guidelines. Answer phones and conduct screening, and place on waitlist or refer to Intake Coordinator. Counsel detox clients about treatment options in the program, refer to other agencies as needed. Refer eligible clients to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in consultation with ACS Counselor. Conduct group counseling activities, Residential or Outpatient Treatment Services, per ACS. Lead group education sessions for Residential, Outpatient, and Family Support, per ACS. Education and Requirements
These liaison positions shall be filled by experienced, qualified professionals who have a Bachelors in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other related field, and/or three years of relevant case management experience in housing.
Must have an outgoing personality with good communication skills, ability to work in a team setting, and an ability to work with difficult individuals. Strong leadership style and good organizational skills required. Knowledge of The Salvation Army and government, state, and community resources is helpful. Must be computer literate and able to utilize a computer for documentation of work. CPR/First Aid certification required.
Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time, and perform well with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Requires a high level of confidentiality. Must have a valid drivers license and pass TSA MVR check. Will be required to obtain CDL.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment, to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. May require some travel to client homes for outreach services.
