Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree. Two years of experience in housing assistance programs, affordable housing operations, or related human services work, to include experience in eligibility determinations, case management, or landlord-tenant relations is required. Additional experience in housing assistance programs, affordable housing operations, or related human services work, to include experience in eligibility determinations, case management, or landlord-tenant relations may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis. Must obtain Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program certification (such as Certified Occupancy Specialist or equivalent from a nationally recognized housing organization) within the one year probationary period.
Recruitment Notes
The Housing Coordinator will provide professional support in administering housing programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is responsible for managing caseloads of Project-Based Voucher households and developments, ensuring compliance with HUD regulations through accurate eligibility determinations, annual and interim recertifications, and meticulous recordkeeping. The role entails working independently and analyzes documentation to calculate income and rent, as well as coordinate efforts with property owners, tenants, and inspectors to maintain program integrity and stay compliant with HUD regulations.
Pursuant to the authority in Chapter 8B of the Code of Miami-Dade County, when there is a declared state of emergency issued for any portion of Miami-Dade County, all employees of HCD will be required to adhere to directives from the Mayor or the Mayors designee to report to work and perform all duties assigned during a declared state of emergency.
