The IAFF Center of Excellence is seeking dedicated Housekeepers to join our team in supporting the recovery and well-being of professional fire fighters and emergency medical workers. Located on a beautiful 15-acre wooded campus just outside Washington, D.C., the IAFF Center of Excellence provides specialized behavioral health and substance abuse treatment exclusively for members of the fire service community. Every member of our team plays an important role in helping patients heal, recover, and rebuild their lives.

Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and sanitation of the facility, with a strong focus on floor care and environmental services. This position helps ensure patients, visitors, and staff experience a safe and comfortable environment throughout the campus.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties in assigned areas according to established schedules and procedures
- Scrub, strip, buff, and refinish hard surface floors to maintain a polished appearance
- Shampoo carpets and remove stains as needed
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment including vacuums, mops, buffers, and other housekeeping tools
- Maintain linen inventory and distribute supplies throughout the facility
- Assist with setup and breakdown for special events and functions
- Move and arrange furniture as needed
- Respond to emergency spills and cleaning needs promptly
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
- Identify maintenance or repair needs and report concerns to leadership
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and facility leadership
- Maintain professional appearance, hygiene, and dress code standards
- Adapt to changing priorities and assignments in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Floor care experience strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prefer one (1) year of housekeeping experience, preferably within a healthcare facility
- Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Dependable, professional, and service-oriented attitude
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
