Job Description

Housekeeping/Custodial Worker I & II

About the Position:

Housekeeping/Custodial Workers have the integral role and basic function of the caring for and cleaning of Griffin Memorial Hospital- Annex location. Positions in this job family are assigned routine work involving sweeping, mopping, dusting, disposing of trash, and other simple cleaning duties in a 24-hour, 30 bed inpatient facility. Training will be provided in completing more advanced tasks, such as the disposal of restricted or environmentally hazardous materials. Housekeepers/Custodial Workers may also have responsibilities involving the disposal of hazardous materials or other restricted items.

Job Type/Salary:

  • Job Type: Full time, Non-Exempt

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Annual Salary is:

  • Level II: $14.66/hour

  • Level I: $ 13.70/hour

  • COVERING SHIFTS AT GRIFFIN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORMAN, OK MAY BE REQUIRED DUE TO STAFFING.

  • Interview and initial training will be conducted at GMH in Norman, Oklahoma.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Level II: One year experience in building or institutional custodial work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Level I: No experience required.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed for job-related duties.
  • Must pass pre-employment and pre-placement drug and alcohol screening due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position.

About us:

Griffin Memorial Hospital Annex (GMH Annex) is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on the site of the former Hillcrest Hospital. This 30-bed facility provides compassionate, recovery-focused care for individuals who are pretrial defendants found incompetent to stand trial, as well as those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) or Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Illness (NGRMI). The GMH Annex is dedicated to helping each person achieve stability, restore competency, and successfully transition to the next stage of their recovery journey.

Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Preplacement Testing: Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
