The House Supervisor is responsible for the allocation and assignment of nursing staff during their assigned shift. He/ she is responsible for the clinical supervision and hospital operations; and, assesses, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical and operational functions of the unit to ensure quality, cost effective health care is provided by an educated and competent staff. Serves as a resource for staff, physicians, patients, families and visitors.
The House Supervisor duties include provision of managerial and clinical links between the staff and Hospital leaders in their absence and the administrator on call by supervising, coordinating and evaluating activities within the hospital and providing continuity for information shared, actions taken and outcomes reported. Serves as a patient advocate and an administrative resource during the shift to ensure care meets hospital and professional standards.
