Job Description

We are seeking an experienced House Supervisor RN for a Long Term Care and Skilled Nursing Facility assignment. The RN House Supervisor will oversee clinical operations during off shifts, provide leadership and support to nursing staff, and ensure quality patient care across multiple units within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and operational supervision for the facility during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Serve as a resource for clinical problem-solving, escalation management, and staff support
  • Coordinate patient flow and staffing operations across all units
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise nursing staff to ensure quality patient care and regulatory compliance
  • Respond to emergency situations, code management, and incident reporting
  • Oversee infection control, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Support admissions, staffing coordination, and productivity management
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to HIPAA and facility protocols

Patient Population

The facility includes multiple long term care and specialty units caring for residents with:

  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Diabetes
  • Cardiac conditions
  • Stroke/CVA recovery
  • Orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Long term skilled nursing care needs

Specialized Units

  • Neurobehavioral dementia unit
  • Secure dementia/elopement-risk unit
  • Rehabilitation unit for post-surgical and cardiac recovery
  • Long term care units

Equipment & Clinical Skills

Experience with:

  • PICC line care and management
  • Wound vacs
  • Tube feedings
  • Nephrostomy tubes
  • Indwelling catheters
  • Colostomy care
  • IV initiation and maintenance
  • Emergency preparedness and de-escalation techniques

Requirements

  • Active RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Previous charge or supervisory experience required
  • Skilled Nursing Facility or Long Term Care experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from facility location
