Compensation
- Annual Salary: $83,000 – $95,000
Position Summary
The House Supervisor / Patient Flow Specialist oversees hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient patient flow, optimal staffing, and high-quality patient care. This role involves leadership, administrative decision-making, and coordination across clinical and non-clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to hospital staff on policies and procedures
- Oversee patient flow, staffing allocation, and resource utilization
- Respond to patient and family concerns and resolve issues effectively
- Supervise staff performance and provide coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with charge nurses, clinical teams, and leadership
- Support administrative decision-making in coordination with senior nursing leadership
- Ensure smooth workflow and effective communication across departments
Requirements
Education
- Degree from an accredited Nursing Program
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience in a hospital setting
- Recent ICU experience preferred
- Experience with:
- Patient flow and resource management
- Leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Care across all age groups (infant to geriatric)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active RN license (or ability to obtain)
- CPR certification (required)
- ACLS & PALS (required or must obtain within 6 months)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of advanced nursing practices
- Experience with:
- Cardiac monitoring
- Post-operative and medical patient care
- Advanced equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, IV pumps)
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to manage high workload in fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational and communication skills
