Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job description
About the position
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer at the Sirata Beach Resort is responsible for ensuring the physical
property, equipment, and life safety systems are in optimal working condition. This role supports the
overall success of hotel operations by performing routine maintenance, responding to emergencies,
and addressing guest repair requests. The engineer must work independently and collaboratively
with hotel staff and guests, demonstrating effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC,
plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- \u2022 Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, floods, and fire alarms.
- \u2022 Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
- \u2022 Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky
spigots and faucets.
- \u2022 Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs,
and patching holes in walls.
- \u2022 Report any maintenance problems, equipment failure, and safety hazards to Chief
Engineer/Management immediately.
- \u2022 Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, as required.
- \u2022 Communicate with guests, management, and fellow team members to resolve maintenance issues.
- \u2022 Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure their longevity and
efficiency.
- \u2022 Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
- \u2022 Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- \u2022 Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies.
- \u2022 Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
- \u2022 Follow all company policies/procedures, safety & security policies/procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- \u2022 Minimum of 2 years' experience in hotel maintenance or a related field.
- \u2022 Ability to learn general knowledge of plumbing systems, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and
telephones.
- \u2022 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- \u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- \u2022 Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- \u2022 Physical abilities include lifting over your head, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
- \u2022 Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- \u2022 Must pass background check.
