Emish Marketis a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.

We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Hot Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role focuses on preparing hot menu items for our café and deli operations and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintains high food quality standards, and works efficiently during busy service periods.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and cook hot food items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, flat tops, and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Set up and stock cooking stations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before and during service
  • Ensure all food is cooked, plated, and served in a timely manner
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency throughout each shift
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
  • Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and closing duties as needed
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service

Work Schedule: 11:00 AM - 07:30 PM, Thursday - Sunday

Pay & Compensation: $18 per hour

Benefits:
We offer competitive employee benefits including paid sick leave (1 hour per 40 hours worked), partial employer-covered medical insurance (75% for full-time employees), and paid vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment and 2 weeks after 2 years.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a line cook, hot line cook, or similar position in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain quality and consistency during busy service periods
