Your role involves closely monitoring patient progress, making necessary treatment adjustments, and engaging in meaningful discussions with patients and their families about their care. Additionally, you'll facilitate seamless communication with the patient's primary care physician, coordinate follow-up appointments, and provide essential medical records to support their ongoing treatment.What You'll Do:As a valued member of our healthcare team, the PA/AGACNP will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include:Independently see patients and appropriately manage their care during shiftPerforming assessments and developing appropriate plansPlacing necessary orders and calling consults when neededCoordinating with Nursing Staff and Case ManagementConduct family meetings if necessaryDevelop discharge plan when applicableRespond to Rapid Responses and CODES for their patientsStaff patients at least once with their assigned attending physician(s), and provide subsequent important updates throughout the day.Provide appropriate hand-off/sign-out at the conclusion of their shift to the nocturnist.Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projectsPotential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learnersUphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferredCurrent North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPAPrevious inpatient experience preferredBLS and ACLS requiredNurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher requiredCurrent North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenseBoard certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse PractitionerPrevious inpatient experience preferredBLS and ACLS requiredWhere You'll Live:The picturesque cities of North Carolina's Piedmont Triad region are ranked among US News & World Report's Top 50 Best Places to Live and Top 40 Best Places to Retire in 2023.
