Overview:
Sentara Medical Group has a Full-time, day position available for an Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Hospital Medicine team at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA.
Schedule: 12 -hour Day shifts

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hospital Medicine team as a Day -Shift Advanced Practice Provider. The APP will provide high-quality inpatient care overnight, including admissions, cross-coverage, and collaboration with the nocturnist team. New graduates with a strong interest in hospital medicine are encouraged to apply, and will be supported through a structured onboarding and training program.
Responsibilities
• Perform admissions from the ED and direct transfers, including history, physical exam, assessment, and initial management plans
• Provide cross-coverage for hospitalized patients with timely evaluation of clinical changes
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and perform therapeutic interventions within scope
• Communicate effectively with nocturnist physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
• Complete thorough and timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Participating in safe and effective handoffs at shift transitions
• Support quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
• Engage in ongoing professional development and learning activities
• Rounding on low acuity patients OBS and Inpatients under Physician supervision
