Job Summary and Qualifications

The Housekeeper Dispatcher is responsible for using effective communication skills to serve customers by answering or referring telephone inquiries, and/or by assisting the customer in person to support Housekeeping needs. Serves as a point of contact for Housekeeping software system. To be considerate, courteous, respectful and polite to both internal and external callers, demonstrating the key values and concern and providing assistance as required.

What you will do in this role:

  • Exhibits department and hospital image by greeting customers in a courteous manner following established standards
  • Protects patients, the department and hospital by maintaining confidentiality according to established policy
  • Enhances public perception of the department and hospital by projecting a positive image of the department
  • Follow established departmental procedures to ensure caller satisfaction by answering telephone inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Demonstrates job proficiency when performing routine dispatch functions
  • Monitor bed boards using capacity management software
  • Assigns rooms and areas to housekeeping team/Supervisors for cleaning
  • Liaison between Housekeeping staff
  • Log complaints and creating report for the management
  • Log any employee call-outs and alert appropriate supervisor, manager, or director

What qualifications you will need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate’s degree or 2 years related work experience in Healthcare Field or telephone operator
  • One to two years of experience working in customer relations or other public contact fields
