A growing hospital in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Hospital Controller to join its leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a highly visible financial leadership role within a newly opened hospital environment and help shape the operational and financial foundation of the organization from the ground up.

The Controller will work closely with executive leadership and play a key role in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term strategic growth.

Compensation:
Salary range: $110,000–$120,000 based on relevant experience
Potential for quarterly performance-based bonuses
Strong preference for local candidates or those with ties to South Carolina

Position Overview:
The Hospital Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations for the facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. This leader will partner closely with the CEO and hospital leadership team to support operational goals and financial decision-making.

Responsibilities:
Direct all hospital accounting and financial operations including:

  • Billing
  • Accounts receivable/payable
  • Cash management
  • Payroll
  • General ledger
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Internal controls
  • Audits

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, operational reviews, budgets, and required state reporting

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance

Collaborate with hospital leadership, regional leadership, and corporate teams on strategic initiatives

Participate in hospital committees, governing body meetings, and partnership boards as needed

Support compliance efforts related to Medicare regulations and financial reporting standards

Supervise two direct reports:

  • Purchasing Coordinator
  • Accounting Assistant

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

Prior financial leadership experience within a hospital setting required

  • Acute care
  • Inpatient rehabilitation
  • LTACH
  • Behavioral health experience all considered

Candidates should have recent hospital finance leadership experience (current or within the past 10–12 years)

Strong background in hospital accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Stable work history preferred
