Home Infusion Nurse - Partner with Patients. Practice with Purpose.
As a Home Infusion Nurse youll provide one‑on‑one skilled clinical care to patients where they feel most comfortable-at home or in an ambulatory infusion suite. This role offers true autonomy a flexible schedule and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with patients and caregivers while delivering life‑changing therapies.
Youll have the support of a multidisciplinary care team comprehensive training and the resources you need to deliver safe effective and compassionate infusion care.
In This Role You Will

Work an average of 30-40 hours per week
Travel within the Lawrence Topeka to Overland Park areato deliver care in patient homes or designated sites.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to patient homes and related sites using a personal or rental vehicle in accordance with company travel policies
Provide safe and compliant infusion services in accordance with Optum Infusion Pharmacy policies protocols and physician orders.
Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers including education on self-care and self-administration.
Assess patient suitability for home infusion therapy including home safety caregiver support and patient independence.
Obtain and maintain accurate patient medical histories clinical assessments and all required documentation including plans of care visit notes medication profiles and discharge summaries.
Deliver skilled nursing care across a range of patient ages and conditions based on physician orders and treatment plans.
Establish access and maintain vascular devices including peripheral IVs PICC lines tunneled catheters and implanted ports.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses including managing infusion reactions vital signs side effects and lab collection.
Communicate patient status and therapy response promptly with physicians pharmacists supervisors and other care team members
Assist in staff orientation and training serving as a clinical educator and resource as requested

Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse RN license in the state of Kansas
Current BLSCPR certification from AHA or Red Cross or willingness to obtain prior to start
One or more years of RN experience in a clinical setting supporting infusion or IV therapy e.g. ICU Med‑Surg ED PACU.
Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment and effective interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Valid drivers license reliable transportation and ability to cover an 80‑mile service radius while working 30-40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
Previous home infusion experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EMR platforms
Knowledge of Infusion Nursing Society INS standards
Understanding of HIPAA OSHA and home infusion accreditation guidelines
Strong communication organization critical‑thinking and teaching skills
