About CHCA
Cooperative Home Care Associates (CHCA) was founded in 1985 as a home health care services agency licensed by the New York State Department of Health, to provide quality home care for elders and individuals living with physical disabilities in New York City. CHCA started with 12 Home Health Aides and now employs more than 1,400 home care workers, 98 percent of whom are Latina or African American women. As the largest worker-owned cooperative in the US, CHCA offers all employees the opportunity to purchase an equal ownership stake in the business. Today CHCA is one of the largest private-sector employers in the South Bronx and one of the largest women-and-minority-owned businesses in New York City.
Since 2012, CHCA has been certified as a B Corp. B Corps are certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

CHCA (Cooperative Home Care Associates) is now accepting applications for our FREE Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program!
The role of a Home Health Aide is to:
· · Monitor patient condition by observing physical and mental condition.
· · Support patients by providing light housekeeping and laundry services;
· · Assist clients in shopping for food and other household requirements and preparing and serving meals and snacks; running errands.
· · Assists patients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
· · Using mobile app to record daily tasks
This comprehensive training is ideal for individuals who are eager to join the healthcare field and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Our program prepares you to become a New York State Certified Home Health Aide—at no cost to you.
Program Highlights:
· · No cost to participants
· · Hybrid learning format: Online theory and lectures combined with in-person, hands-on lab sessions. Laptops will be provided to take the training
· · Learn essential caregiving skills and build a strong foundation in home health care
· · Supportive training environment with experienced instructors
· · Classes run from Monday-Friday, 9 amto 5 pm
Upon successful completion, graduates will receive their NYS Home Health Aide Certification and will be eligible for employment through CHCA.
Pay Range: USD $19.50 - USD $19.50 /Hr.
