Essential Responsibilities:

As an home care manager, you are responsible for training, hiring and supervising health care personnel. You are also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and managing ongoing training and competency evaluations. The home care supervisor may be required to consult with patients and caretakers to assess the quality and/or appropriateness of home care program. A home care supervisor must respond to and reported problems in a timely fashion and document and follow up on problems to ensure proper care is being given.



Personnel Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The home care supervisor is primarily responsible for the home care aides under him/her. This may include everything from hiring to firing and ensuring quality care for the clients in between.
  • Accepting cases from Home and Community Services, Department of Human Services, private duty sources, and other affiliated programs with Amicable.
  • Monitoring provision of services according to authorized client’s Plan of Care
  • Making client's in-home visits, as necessary, to provide hands-on training and assistance in the client's home.
  • Acting as liaison between client, caregiver and Amicable.
  • Providing input to annual caregiver's performance evaluation
  • Participate in conferences with case management team, companions and other health care professionals.
  • Responsible for scheduling home care aides' work assignments for patient visitation in accordance with agency guidelines, providing required ratios at all times and emergency coverage when necessary.
  • Ensure that all staff understand and adhere to confidentiality policy when releasing information.
  • Ensure that all staff represent the agency in a professional manner
  • Oversee the management and supervision of services throughout the service delivery areas. The basis of service delivery is the tasks and level of care authorized by DSHS/Service Summary and SSPS authorization
