Requirements
HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification required
Associate’s degree in Science, Histology, or related field required
Minimum of 2 years of paid Histology experience (hospital or reference lab preferred)
Hands-on experience with paraffin embedding, microtomy, special stains, and frozen sections
Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain quality and accuracy under time constraints
Ability to work effectively in a high-volume clinical laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications
Prior hospital or pediatric lab experience
Strong understanding of laboratory safety and compliance standards
Experience working in a fast-paced diagnostic pathology environment
Responsibilities
Process and verify specimen identification and ensure sample integrity and quality
Operate tissue processors and perform paraffin embedding and microtomy procedures
Prepare, cut, and mount tissue sections according to laboratory standards
Perform routine and special staining procedures (including AFB, Gram stains, and others)
Coverslip, label, and distribute slides for pathologist review
Assist with frozen sections, biopsies, and specimen retrieval across lab areas
Troubleshoot specimen processing issues and ensure adherence to quality standards
Maintain accurate documentation and meet established turnaround times
Prioritize workload in a fast-paced laboratory environment
