Featured Role: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Join Valleywise Health and be part of a team dedicated to transforming behavioral health care in Arizona.
As a Behavioral Health RN, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients from the moment they enter a mental health crisis through stabilization and recovery. Psychiatric nurses are strong patient advocates, ensuring care is delivered with dignity, safety, and compassion in a therapeutic, stigma-free environment.
You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and mental health professionals to provide holistic, evidence-based care. As part of an academic medical center affiliated with Creighton University's Arizona Health Education Alliance, you'll also have the opportunity to teach, mentor, and advance your professional skills alongside students and residents.
Our Behavioral Health Centers in Mesa, Phoenix, and Maryvale are among Arizona's largest inpatient behavioral health providers, serving both adolescent and adult populations. This is more than a job \u2014 it's a chance to make a profound impact every day.
Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 \u2013 $50.37
Night Shift Differential: +18%
Weekend Differential: +8%
Qualifications
Education:
Experience:
Completion of the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN program or prior acute care nursing experience
Previous acute care hospital experience in a behavioral health setting preferred
Certification/Licensure:
Current, valid AZ RN license, temporary license, or compact state RN license
Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing
CPI certification and BLS training provided upon hire or transfer
Adolescent Unit (Mesa): Requires AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (or affidavit and follow-up within 90 days)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations
Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer skills
Must read, write, and speak English fluently
