We embrace the cultural shift toward a greater work-life balance.Position SummaryMcCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Engineer III to join our Mount Laurel, NJ Transportation Department. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.ResponsibilitiesSupport design efforts and work under direction of project managersAbility to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects, geometric design, including conceptual, preliminary, right of way, and final construction documentsPerform horizontal and vertical alignment designsKnowledge of roadway design elements, standards and constructability methodsAbility to work independently on engineering assignmentsAble to direct entry-level staff and techniciansAssist with design and plans developmentAssist with scheduling and estimating while generate work for othersExperience in final design projects for large and small-scale public transportation improvement projectsAbility to work effectively with clients, including Federal, State, and local agenciesDevelop project management and budgeting skillsQualifications8 to 15+ years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportationBS in Civil Engineering, MS is a plusPE Certification requiredExperience with NJDOT and NJTA preferredStrong communication and technical writing skillsWorking knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, and OpenRoads are a plusProficient in Microsoft Office 365 SuiteWe value your interest in our organization!
