    Overview Transportation Project Manager | Boston, MAA well established civil engineering firm is hiring a Transportation Project Manager to help grow its Boston transportation practice. The Boston office delivers roadway and bridge design, traffic engineering, water and wastewater, and public involvement work for MassDOT and a range of municipal and local agencies across Massachusetts and New England. This is a seller doer role, as much about leading business development and growing the operation as executing the project work.The projects You will step into a strong active pipeline, including high profile overpass and corridor improvements in Cambridge (alternatives analysis and preliminary design)Multiple MassDOT Design Build assignments (supporting Skanska on a major Bridge Bundle, and Lead Engineer for Northern Construction on a bridge replacement)Complete Streets and corridor projects across MA and New EnglandMassDOT plus municipal on call contractsResponsibilities What you will doServe as Project Manager on transportation projects, creating and executing work plans and owning budget and schedule accountability.Manage teams, coordinate across disciplines internally and with subconsultants, and mentor junior staff.Champion client relationships, especially with MassDOT, and represent the firm at industry events.Identify and lead strategic pursuits, contribute to division growth initiatives, and help shape regional growth strategy.This is a leadership track seat.Day to day Direct project supervision and leadership, ownership of project financials and resource allocation, and developing scope, schedule, and budget into clear work plans.Delegate staff duties, resolve scope and budget discrepancies with the Group Manager and client, and check and sign off deliverables.Ensure safety compliance, track lessons learned, support staff Professional Development Plans, and contribute to proposals.Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of design experience, including managing projects, with direct MassDOT project experience and a track record of delivering to budget and schedule.A genuine seller doer mentality, excellent communication and client relation skills, and strong project management.Education and licensure: BSCE or related discipline.
