Mission
Lead safe, high‑quality commissioning of grid‑scale renewable substations—driving startup, reliability, and on‑time energization across wind, solar, and battery storage assets.
Engagement Snapshot
Contract Type: 1‑year (W‑2)
Capacity: Program Manager for commissioning/startup and operational turnover; portfolio scope
Reporting Line: Project Manager / Commissioning Director
Work Location: On‑site at substation (site provided). Per diem available.
Accountabilities
Execute commissioning with uncompromising adherence to safety and quality policies.
Coordinate EPC field teams, OEM startup personnel, third‑party commissioning firms, and plant operations during startup.
Deliver reliable operational turnover with minimal early‑operation downtime.
Meet contractual obligations, including Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement (LGIA) deliverables with the local utility.
Align with Transmission Operators and Independent System Operators to secure energization dates.
Direct the client’s on‑site commissioning staff.
Collaborate with designated site safety, engineering, and quality stakeholders.
Core Competencies
Electrical construction/commissioning practices; NEC and NFPA proficiency.
SCADA integration and troubleshooting.
E&I controls/instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting.
Protection & Controls implementation and diagnostics.
Drawing reviews, QC inspections, and progress reporting.
Supplier and third‑party management.
Leadership of direct reports and team development.
Schedule literacy and planning acumen.
Preferred Experience
15+ years of on‑site support for renewable generation construction, startup, and commissioning.
3+ years with an EPC on renewable construction startup and commissioning.
Strong partnering history with engineering on technical resolutions.
Experience collaborating with construction on constructability, schedule, and cost.
